This past week in Texas has nothing short of complete chaos.
Snow storms every night. No power for days on end. No water for a week. Then the water wasn’t safe to even put on our faces. No food in the stores. No gas left at gas stations. Car wrecks everywhere you turn because of bad road conditions. Fires destroying peoples’ homes with no water to save them.
The list goes on...
It has been scary, sad, exhausting and all so crazy.
During this time there was so little we could control and it was difficult to keep our heads up, bad news after bad news.
When literally EVERYTHING went to shiz for Texas, it was a rough time for my mental health but I learned to find some really helpful ways to keep my head up and keep going.
When things go to crap, you need a life line. Something to hold onto.
The easiest way to always have that life line on hand, is to find ways to remember the most encouraging points in your life that you can hold onto for when you need them most.
The things that you have gone through and came out of as a stronger you, you can use as peace markers.
As encouragement and as reminders that you have what it takes to keep going.
You might be fighting some recurring battles still, but you are fighting them as a stronger, more equipped version of yourself.
When fear feels like more than you can handle, focus on those peace markers that got you to where you are today.
It doesn’t matter how small the challenges you have faced and gotten through were, you still got through them.
With any battle or challenge that arises, all you need is a little bit of faith to get you going.
Tomorrow’s faith is for tomorrow to deal with.
Start today with enough faith to get through the shiz today brings.
