Everything going on right now can be scary and overwhelming but let me give me you some encouragement.
You don’t have to drown in all of this mess the world throws at you.
When it comes to being successful or most liked, there is so much pressure to meet all these standards and fit into a cookie cutter mold, and you have the choice on whether you’ll let that define your ultimate potential and worth.
What will get you to the top isn't all you’ve done or how many followers you have, but how you use what you have & what you care about.
If you care about what everyone else has to say, get stuck time after time.
You won’t meet up to all those expectations because you aren't supposed to. You are called to fulfill your unique purpose with a loving, servant's heart.
Something that I love to live by is “I’m playing for an audience of one: God”.
There is one thing that will get you to the best of everything and that to me, is God or a higher purpose that you believe in.
You are called to show up every day not because it's the 'right' thing to do, but because your creator has called you to such greatness.
You are capable of so much. “You were made for greatness and a purpose”.
When you show up with that in mind, amazing things happen. You begin to be used to your full potential & nothing can stop you from fulfilling that out when you are playing for an audience of the One who is the most important puzzle piece in this life journey.
When you focus on walking in your God given purpose and having Him in mind with all you put out into the world, you will soar where nothing can touch you.
It’s really that simple.
When I used to feel like I was drowning every time I had to get up and go another day in the hell hole I called school, I would tell myself, “go through this day like you’re working for God.” That gave me such an umph in my day because it was no longer about me or about what other people had to say. It was about using my abilities and about being grateful for what He has given me.
When you focus on working for your higher potential, many worries that used to be so big become so little and it is SO refreshing.
As we walk this rocky road together right now, remember you are not alone in your struggles and you have been called for more.
Lean into that calling. Don’t hold back.
This is where you will find success and fulfillment time after time, no matter how many times you fall.
People who are going through what you have already overcome, NEED YOU.
The world needs you to lean into where you are being called.
Leading your people doesn’t have to be overwhelming when you have faith in what He can do through you. The only One you have to answer to at the end of the day is God.
If you desire to get more in tune with your purpose and calling, message me here. The time is now. Your people need you now more than ever.
Goals, goals, goals. They can be such a pain, can’t they?
This one tip for goal setting will literally change everything for you. It’s insanely simple.
I used to always feel SO SO defeated all the time no matter how hard I was working towards something. I had so many goals always lined up and never felt satisfied or lit up like I wanted to be and I was getting dag-on tired.
Ya know why? I wasn’t able to consistently check off important goals because I was naive on how to properly do so. I did that for so long that I eventually got extremely burnt out and had to stop all together. I had hit a wall and had nothing else to give at that time. That is not a good feeling. It’s very MEH.
Lately, I have felt almost a full 360 take place when it comes to my whole motivation for every single thing, big and small. I have never felt better and it’s all because of this simple change, that literally anyone can make right this second.
First, get a piece of paper. Write down a task you need or want to do that’s small enough for you to do right now. Maybe it’s to put the laundry away or write that letter to a friend. Now go do it, and come back and draw a line through the task. How good did it feel to draw that line? AMAZING, right?!
Exactly!! Your body immediately feels relief, excitement and overall accomplishment from that simple action and being able to cross it off. You get that dopamine hit that will push you forward to be able to go crush your next goal with the besttt energy.
Imagine how good it would feel to cross off a huge goal that you’ve had for the longest time??
All you need to do is to make sure you’re setting them up well or you’ll be wasting your time big time.
They HAVE to have these certain attributes: be specific, measurable, accountable, realistic and time-based.
If they aren’t these 5 things then it will just be another goal that will drive you nuts and leave you feeling discouraged.
You want to go to Hawaii by June? What’s a step that’s going to get you there?...Let’s say, your first goal to help you get there is to sell $200 from selling homemade scarfs this month. That’s your goal. You have a specific amount, a time limit, it’s realistic enough if you know how to properly sell them etc, measurable (something to work for that you can actually cross off), and accountable in the sense that you can hold yourself to that standard without crazy stress because it should be realistic enough to work towards without getting majorly held back.
Make sure your goals aren’t too overwhelming. You don’t need to have the biggest goals. You can have the biggest dreams but let’s make sure those goals that will get you there are realistic and legit. There’s no need to make yourself feel less than.
You CAN and WILL accomplish anything you want with this set up. One goal and action step at a time.
If you need any help with narrowing down your goals and practicing this, message me here and I can walk you through achieving those dreams like the rockstar you are.
“This year will be different and better than ever “, yadayadayada. Ever heard of that one? Yeah, we all have, pretty much every year. The new year has always bothered me a bit because of that. I’d get so annoyed with the “new year, new me” stuff going around and would think, why wait for a new year to better yourself?
I get it. The new year feels fresh and exciting and the whole world is excited about something. All those goals that are being set are amazing, though let’s put a twist on it this year, shall we?
Let’s go ahead and take a look back for a second. Calm down now, it won’t be as scary as you think. Before we can make any significant change this year, we have to take a real good look at our previous year and not just the obvious things that happened.
Stay with me. This exercise made me so much more confident in a new year, than I’ve ever been before.
First, write down the 3 best things that happened to you this past year.
I know that might be a bit tough, but try to find that light. No matter how much of a pain 2020 has been, there is always beauty in the struggle.
Second, write down the 3 worst things that happened to you and be specific.
This might be a bit of a triggering one, though it’s probably one of the most important ones to do. Don’t hide from it.
Next, write down 3 goals you hit this past year. It doesn’t matter how small. What did you accomplish?
It feels good to see those goals you were able to cross off the list. Own it!
This one is one of my favorites: what were 3 of the greatest memories 2020 brought you?
Take some time on this one to enjoy reflecting back on those memories.
Going back to goals, what were 3 goals you missed?
This one isn’t meant as a chance for you to beat yourself up. Just take note and move on to the next question, for now.
Piggy backing off of the last one, what is the greatest lesson you learned from the worst things that happened this past year and from your missed goals?
Again, no beating yourself up here. Take ownership of where you slacked and challenge yourself to improve on that.
What were the main reasons why you missed those goals?
Is there a trend you notice, like laziness, fear, or that they weren’t attainable goals in the first place?
What were the main reasons you hit those other 3 goals?
Passion was a recurring reason I was able to achieve the goals I hit. What do you notice kept you going to be able to hit these 3 goals, that you might could have used with the ones you missed?
From this past year, who were the 3 most influential people in your life?
Most of them might be people you only know online and that’s okay. Who has made the biggest impression and impact on your year? If you want to take it a step further, tell them how much they impact you.
What is the 1 thing you would have differently in 2020?
This is not the time to get all regretful and such, but a chance to learn and make the changes needed, to make this question not feel as big next year.
What is 1 word that best describes your year of 2020?
Dig deep on this one. Put some thought into it and give 2020 some grace while you’re at it.
Lastly, for fun, choose 1 word that will be your theme for 2021.
Mine is humility. My accelerator for 2021 is going to be humility because I need to do whatever it takes to serve my people as well as I possibly can. No more hiding, no more waiting, no more wasting time. Going all in, with humility and faith.
Now that you’ve taken the time to reflect on what a year this past one has been, don’t you feel more clear on how you are going to better this new year? I know I do. Instead of going into the year with a couple goals, you have something written down that you can compare to and challenge yourself with, and use as a reference for a much better year. It is already such a better year because you’ve taken the time to invest in it with this exercise. Now, you have the chance to use this investment to turn things around and end this next year feeling better than ever.
It’s always about challenging yourself to be better than you were the day before. This past year does not define you, it should only strengthen you to crush 2021 more than any year before.
I challenge you to not lose sight of the growth you have experienced.
I've never been so excited about a year than I am for this one. We are in this together this year which is such a beautiful thing and I have the most amazing opportunity to serve you guys as well as I possibly can, and I will not take that for granted.
I’m cheering you on so loud over here and am taking you for this amazing, awesome, crazy ride this year with me. SEE YA 2020. LET’S DO THIS THANG 2021.
I’d love to hear what your word for 2021 is, in the comments! If you need any help with this or with building a life of balance, send me a message here. We are in this together.
